Vondie Curtis-Hall (born September 30, 1956) is an American actor, writer and director who is best known for his recurring roles on shows such as "Chicago Hope", "ER", "Soul Food" and "Chasing Life" as well as being an accomplished film and telefilm director and writer. His film roles include Coming to America, Mystery Train, Heat Wave (with Glenn Plummer), One Good Cop (with Tony Plana and Michael Keaton), The Mambo Kings (with Antonio Banderas), Passion Fish (with Angela Bassett), Sugar Hill (with Wesley Snipes), Crooklyn, Clear and Present Danger (with Harrison Ford and Willem Dafoe), Romeo + Juliet (with John Leguizamo), Gridlock'd (which he also wrote and directed), Eve's Bayou (with Samuel L. Jackson), Turn It Up (with Ja Rule), Talk to Me, Honeydripper, Life Is Hot in Cracktown (again with Plana), The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call - New Orleans (with Nicolas Cage) and Black Nativity (again with Bassett). Other directing and writing credits include 2001's Glitter and 2006's Waist Deep (with Tyrese Gibson).

Hall appeared in the Die Hard scenario films Die Hard 2: Die Harder and Broken Arrow. In the first he was in a villainous role while in the second he was given a heroic role.
