DHS- Natalya (Bond girl heroine) in 007 GoldenEye (1995 film)

Natalya Simyanova

Natalya Simonova is the leading Bond girl in the 1995 James Bond film GoldenEye and is portrayed by actress Izabella Scorupco. She is a Russian space weapon facility programmer who helps Bond destroy the satellite.

Character Summary[]

Simonova worked as a Level 2 programmer at the Severnaya facility, on work involving missile guidance systems. When the treasonous General Ourumov and Xenia Onatopp attack the station with a stolen Tiger helicopter, she is left as the only survivor besides Boris Grishenko, who had allied himself with the minion's leader and mastermind Alec Trevelyan. She attempted to find Boris, whom she believed to be innocent, at a nearby cathedral only to be turned over to Onatopp.

Simonova and Bond, who have both been captured by Trevelyan, are trapped in a stolen Tiger helicopter. The helicopter fires missiles at itself, but Bond is able to eject the two, who are subsequently arrested by the Russian government. Ourumov sets Bond free to clear his own name of murder; Bond escapes, but loses Natalya in the process. He then rescues her from Ourumov and Trevelyan, and they become lovers. The two then follow Trevelyan to Cuba, where she questions his "professional callousness" during an argument.

In the end, she helps destroys the GoldenEye satellite and commandeers a helicopter to pick up Bond and herself by using the gun Bond gave her. Natalya saves Bond right after he defeats Trevelyan. They leave in the helicopter and get dropped off a distance away CIA officer Jack Wade was waiting for the two of them.
