Gary Sinise (born March 17, 1955) is an American actor, film director, and musician. During his career, he has won various awards including an Emmy and a Golden Globe Award, while also being nominated for an Academy Award. He is often recognized for this work as a stage actor and for appearing in films such as Of Mice and Men (with John Malkovich), Forest Gump, Apollo 13, Ransom, The Green Mile, All the Rage (with Bokeem Woodbine) and The Human Stain. Other credits include: The Quick and the Dead (with Lance Henriksen), The Forgotten, The Big Bounce (with Morgan Freeman) and Captain America: The Winter Soldier (with Samuel L. Jackson). He appeared on the successful TV show spin-off "CSI: New York" for all nine seasons as the main show's protagonist Mac Taylor. Sinise also has his own band which plays for charity events called "The Lt. Dan Band," which is named after his Forest Gump character
