Jason Statham (born July 26, 1967) is an English actor, martial artist, and former Olympic diver best known for appearances in Guy Ritchie crime comedies, as lead anti-hero Frank Martin in Luc Besson's The Transporter trilogy, as Lee Christmas in The Expendables saga (with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Jet Li and Dolph Lundgren) and as Shaw in the last two Fast and Furious installments.
Early Life[]
Jason Statham grew up athletic-- he was involved in football/soccer as a child and more importantly, diving. He moved to Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, where he initially chose not to follow his father's career working the local market stalls, instead practicing martial arts. He was a member of Britain's National Diving Squad for twelve years. He was also a model for French Connection before he got into acting. He also worked as a black market salesman prior to that.
Jason's film credits include: Turn It Up (with Ja Rule), Snatch, The Italian Job, Safe (with Simon Rhee and Arnold Chon), The Bank Job (with Craig Fairbrass), War (also with Li) and Parker.
Personally, Jason has dating model Kelly Brooks until recently, and he is now dating Rosie Huntington-Whitely, an Australian Victoria's Secret model best known for her role in the Transformers franchise (a film series that Statham has long been rumored as being cast for in future sequels).
Jason is an expert in martial arts and he usually does his own stunts. He has trained for years in Jiu Jitsu, MMA, and is an expert in Kickboxing. He has studied Wing Chun, Kung Fu and Karate.
