Gary Leonard Oldman (born 21 March 1958 in New Cross, London, England, UK) is an English screen and stage actor, filmmaker and musician. He portrayed villain Egor Korshunov in Air Force One, as scene-chewing villain Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg in Luc Besson's The Fifth Element and in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy as the heroic supporting character Commissioner James Gordon.

Biography[]

Oldman is best known for his portrayals as Sid Vicious on Sid and Nancy (with Xander Berkeley), Lee Harvey Oswald in JFK, Count Dracula in Bram Stoker's Dracula (with Keanu Reeves, Anthony Hopkins and Monica Bellucci), Rosencrantz in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, Ludwig van Beethoven in Immortal Beloved, Sirius Black in the Harry Potter movie series, James Gordon in Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy (with Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Rutger Hauer and Christian Bale) and as George Smiley in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

He also made other film appearances in State of Grace (with Ed Harris), Léon: The Professional, True Romance (with Christian Slater, Tom Sizemore and Samuel L. Jackson), Murder in the First (again with Slater), The Contender (with Joan Allen and Jeff Bridges), Hannibal (with Anthony Hopkins and Julianne Moore), The Backwoods, The Book of Eli (with Denzel Washington), Lawless (with Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce), 2014's Robocop (again with Jackson) and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (with Thomas Rosales Jr.).

He also had voice roles for Quest for Camelot (with Pierce Brosnan), the 2009 animated version of A Christmas Carol, Planet 51 and Kung Fu Panda 2 (with Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dennis Haysbert).
