Barry Pepper (born April 4, 1970) is a Canadian actor perhaps best recognized for his role as Pvt. Jackson in Steven Spielberg's 1998 WWII epic Saving Private Ryan. He had additional supporting roles in Tony Scott's Enemy of the State, The Green Mile, 61*, Knockaround Guys (with John Malkovich and Dennis Hopper), We Were Soldiers, Spike Lee's 25th Hour, Ripley Under Ground (with Willem Dafoe), The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada (with Tommy Lee Jones), Casino Jack, the 2010 True Grit remake (with Matt Damon and Jeff Bridges), Snitch (with Benjamin Bratt), 2013's The Lone Ranger (with Johnny Depp) and Kill the Messenger (with Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Jeremy Renner).

He has been nominated for three Screen Actors Guild Awards and a Golden Globe Award. In 2011, he won the Emmy Award for "Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie" for his role as Robert F. Kennedy in the miniseries "The Kennedys".
